Day 5 should have seen me fully rested, what with staying up all hours of the night on Day 3. Unfortunately, I was not fully rested. But, I got on with it anyway.
Earlier in the week I formed a team for the Concept2Inc Virtual Team Challenge for January. We needed a minimum of 2 members to make the scoreboard, and a friend joined me in my misery. My Instagram posts and blogging managed to recruit a Finnish madman at rowing (madman being a term of endearment), who felt sorry for me and my very pedestrian distances, joining my team of Dad Level Viking and bringing our team count to 3! His numbers have been fantastic, putting us as high up on the leaderboard as 147th place (team standings).
Although the contest doesn’t really mean much, it will be great to see how I fare against other, more experienced and dedicated rowers.
That being said, Day 5 pictures are below.

This is a slide show of the close-ups I took of the route I travelled on Day 5, 8 pictures total.

At the end of Day 5, I have travelled the following measures:
Distance: 60,161 meters
Time: 4 hours, 44 minutes, and 46.8 seconds
Any info on the areas I am travelling through, is greatly appreciated! I would like to one day complete this journey in earnest, so any intel I can receive beforehand will help that dream come true!
Comments are appreciated, and please share with anyone who might be interested in following my travels, so to speak.
Skål!
